Hallmark Guide

Majestic Jewellery Certification Standards

Our standards are built around consistency, documentation, and verifiable quality controls. This page explains what we do internally and what we guarantee — without duplicating hallmark reading, law, or purity tables.

Where this fits

Majestic standards explain what we control internally. Independent hallmarking is explained on the dedicated London Assay Office page.

Not covered here: how to read marks, legal exemptions, fineness tables, assay office symbol catalogs.

Our standard in 5 points

1

Metal standard consistency

We design our collections around consistent metal standards and product specifications so customers receive predictable quality and feel.

2

Controlled production workflow

Each piece follows a controlled sequence of production steps designed to minimise variation and protect structural integrity.

3

Quality control discipline

We run checks at the points where issues typically appear: finish, alignment, assembly, and (where relevant) stone security.

4

Documentation & traceability

We keep a documentation mindset: product identifiers, order records, and internal QC notes are structured to support traceability.

QC checklist (general)

This checklist outlines what we look for without exposing technical trade specifics. The aim is simple: consistency, comfort, and long-term wearability.

Finish & surface

  • Uniform polish / brushing consistency
  • No unintended sharp edges
  • Clean interior comfort zones (where applicable)

Form & symmetry

  • Shape alignment and visual balance
  • Band / profile consistency
  • Proper closure function on moving parts

Assembly integrity

  • Secure joins and clean transitions
  • Stable structure at stress points
  • Clasp / hinge reliability (if applicable)

Stone-set pieces (when applicable)

  • Setting security and stability
  • Even visual spacing
  • No snag points on prongs or edges

Hallmarking verifies metal purity through an authorised system. Our QC focuses on structure, finish, and wearable quality.

How independent hallmarking connects to our standards

Our internal standards control what we can directly manage: production discipline, QC checks, and documentation. For eligible pieces, independent hallmarking adds an external verification layer through an authorised UK process. We keep the full Assay Office workflow and official document references on the London Assay Office page to avoid duplication.

What we guarantee — and what we don’t claim

What we guarantee

  • Clear metal standard: product pages state the metal standard used.
  • QC discipline: we apply the checks outlined above as part of our workflow.
  • Documentation mindset: orders and product records are maintained to support traceability.
  • Independent verification (eligible items): hallmarking is pursued via authorised UK processes where applicable.

What we don’t claim

  • No “lifetime indestructible” claims: jewellery can wear and scratch with use.
  • No universal hallmark promise for every item: some items may be exempt or not eligible depending on legal thresholds or design constraints.
  • No implication that hallmarking equals craftsmanship perfection: hallmarking is about metal purity verification.
  • No legal advice: legal interpretation is kept on the UK law page.
