01 Hallmarking & Authenticity

What does it mean that your jewellery is “UK Hallmarked”?
A UK hallmark is an independent, legal indication of precious-metal purity applied by an official UK Assay Office. Qualifying pieces from Majestic Jewellery are independently hallmarked under the Hallmarking Act 1973, so you can be confident the gold you buy is genuine and to standard. (Very light items may fall under the legal hallmarking weight threshold.)
Why do you use the London Assay Office?
The London Assay Office is one of the most respected precious-metal testing authorities in the world. Having qualifying pieces assayed there gives you a recognised, independent standard of testing and lasting confidence in what you own.
Where can I find the hallmark on my ring?
The hallmark is discreetly stamped or laser-engraved on the inside of the band. It’s small enough to keep the ring comfortable for everyday wear, but clear enough to read with a standard jeweller’s loupe.
What is the “CMJ” maker’s mark on the ring?
CMJ is our registered sponsor’s (maker’s) mark. It identifies the piece as ours within the UK hallmarking system, alongside the metal fineness and Assay Office marks on qualifying pieces.
How do I know my ring is genuine solid gold?
On qualifying pieces, the independent UK hallmark itself is your assurance — it certifies the metal’s fineness (e.g. 9ct, 14ct or 18ct). Every order is also supplied with a Majestic Jewellery product record for your reference.
Can a UK hallmark be faked or copied?
UK hallmarking is a legally protected system administered by independent Assay Offices, and applying false marks is a criminal offence. Because our qualifying pieces are assayed independently rather than self-certified, the mark is a trustworthy, third-party indication of purity.

02 Solid Gold & “Better Gold”

Are your rings solid gold or gold-plated?
Solid gold — never plated. Our rings are made from genuine solid gold throughout (9ct, 14ct or 18ct), so the colour and value run through the whole piece, not just the surface.
Why do you never use gold plating for wedding rings?
Plating is a thin surface layer that can wear away with daily use, exposing a different base metal underneath. A wedding ring is worn every day for a lifetime, so we only make them in solid gold — no plating to fade or rub off.
Will my solid gold ring peel, fade or tarnish?
Solid gold does not peel or flake the way plating can. Like all fine jewellery it can pick up everyday marks over time, but the gold itself doesn’t change — and it can be professionally polished to refresh its finish.
Can I wear my solid gold ring in the shower or while swimming?
Occasional contact with water won’t harm solid gold. As general care, we recommend removing rings for swimming pools and harsh chemicals, and cleaning them gently at home to keep them looking their best.
What makes your gold “Better Gold”?
“Better Gold” is our quality promise: zero plating, independent UK hallmarking on qualifying pieces, and alloys chosen for durability and everyday luxury. It’s solid gold made to be worn and kept.
Do white gold rings need re-plating, and do you offer maintenance?
White gold is often finished with rhodium for a bright white lustre, which can gently soften over years of wear. This is normal for all white gold jewellery, and we can arrange re-rhodium plating to restore the finish when needed.

03 Gold Purity — 9ct · 14ct · 18ct

What do 9ct, 14ct and 18ct actually mean?
Carat (ct) measures how much pure gold is in the alloy. 9ct is around 37.5% pure gold, 14ct around 58.5%, and 18ct 75%. All three are solid gold — the difference is the balance of purity, durability and richness of colour.
Which purity is most durable for everyday wear?
9ct and 14ct contain more strengthening alloy, making them very hard-wearing for daily rings. 18ct is richer in colour and still excellent for everyday wear with normal care. 14ct is our signature — a balance of durability and warmth.
Is 18ct gold too soft for a textured or hammered band?
18ct is perfectly suitable for textured and hammered designs. If you want maximum resilience for a heavily textured everyday band, 14ct or 9ct can be an ideal choice — we’re happy to advise on the best fit for your design.
Is there a visible colour difference between the carats?
Yes, subtly. Higher-carat yellow gold (18ct) has a warmer, deeper tone, while 9ct and 14ct are a little lighter. Rose and white gold vary similarly. We can guide you on which tone suits your preference and skin.
Can we choose different metals for a couple set?
Absolutely. Because every piece is made to order, each ring in a couple set can be a different carat or colour while still being designed to complement one another.

04 Sizing & Fit

How do I find my correct ring size?
We provide a Free Ring Sizer so you can measure accurately at home. Wedding bands need millimetre precision, so a proper sizer gives the most reliable, comfortable fit.
Can I just use a string or a printable sizer instead?
We’d gently advise against string or paper — they often give inaccurate results and can lead to an ill-fitting band. Our Free Ring Sizer is designed for an accurate, comfortable fit and saves the hassle of resizing later.
What if my ring size changes in the future?
Fingers naturally change over time. Get in touch and we’ll advise on resizing options for your specific design and metal so your ring stays comfortable for years to come.
Do you offer a comfort fit?
Many of our bands are available with a comfort-fit profile — gently rounded on the inside for easy, everyday wear. Let us know your preference when you order or enquire.

05 Delivery & Made-to-Order

How long will my ring take?
Because pieces are made to order, wedding bands are typically ready in around 14 days. Stone-set and fully bespoke pieces are confirmed with you directly, so you always know your timeline before we begin.
What does “made to order” mean for me?
Each ring is crafted for you after you order, in your chosen metal, width and size — rather than pulled from mass stock. It means a piece made to your specification, with solid gold quality and no compromise.
Is my order insured in transit?
Yes. UK orders are sent fully insured and tracked at no extra cost, so your ring is protected all the way to your door.
Do you deliver outside the UK?
We’re UK-based and focused on UK delivery. If you’re outside the UK, message us before ordering and we’ll let you know what’s possible for your location.
How will I track my order?
You’ll receive updates as your piece is made and dispatched, including tracking once it’s on its way. You can also reach us any time on WhatsApp for a quick status update.

06 Returns, Exchanges & Aftercare

What is your return policy?
We offer a 30-day return period and a 60-day exchange window, so you have real peace of mind. If a piece isn’t right, get in touch and we’ll guide you through it.
Can I return a made-to-order or 18ct ring?
Yes. Unlike many jewellers who refuse returns on made-to-order or higher-carat pieces, we honour our 30-day return policy across our standard bespoke collections. (Some fully personalised commissions may vary — we’ll always confirm before you order.)
Can I return or exchange an engraved ring?
In most cases, yes — we’re one of the few premium makers who still support returns or exchanges on engraved standard pieces. Deeply personalised bespoke work is confirmed case by case at quote.
How long does a refund take?
Once our team receives and inspects the returned ring (usually within 24 hours of receipt), your refund is processed promptly and typically reaches your account within 3–5 business days.
Do you offer aftercare, cleaning or repairs?
Yes. We can advise on cleaning, polishing, re-rhodium plating for white gold and resizing to keep your ring looking its best. Just contact us with your piece details.
Is my purchase covered against manufacturing faults?
Every piece is quality-checked before it leaves us, and we stand behind our craftsmanship. If you ever notice a manufacturing or material fault, contact us and we’ll put it right — warranty terms apply.

07 Diamonds & Gemstones

Are your diamonds natural or lab-grown?
We offer both natural and lab-grown diamonds, so you can choose what suits your preference and budget. We’ll explain the options clearly for your chosen piece.
Are your diamonds graded or certified?
Diamond-set pieces are supplied with independent laboratory grading (such as IGI, GIA or HRD), confirmed at point of sale. Plain gold pieces include a Majestic Jewellery product record rather than a stone certificate.
What’s the difference between natural and lab-grown diamonds?
Both are real diamonds with the same physical and optical properties. Natural diamonds form in the earth over long timescales; lab-grown diamonds are created in controlled conditions, usually at a lower price for the same size and grade.
Do plain gold bands come with a diamond certificate?
No — a plain gold band has no stone, so there’s no diamond certificate. Instead it carries a UK hallmark on qualifying pieces and a Majestic Jewellery product record.

08 Bespoke & Custom

Do you make bespoke and custom rings?
Yes — bespoke is one of our specialities, from custom wedding and engagement rings to redesigning jewellery you already own. Share your idea and we’ll help bring it to life.
How does the bespoke process work?
It’s simple: share your idea, we design and quote it, we craft your piece, then it’s hallmarked (on qualifying pieces) and delivered. Timelines and final details are confirmed at quote, before any work begins.
Can you remodel or redesign my existing jewellery?
Yes. We can rework or remodel existing pieces into something new. Send us photos and details via WhatsApp or email and we’ll advise on what’s possible.
Is there a cost to enquire about bespoke?
No — enquiring and getting a design idea and quote comes with no cost or obligation. You only proceed once you’re happy with the design and price.
Can I have my ring engraved?
Yes, we offer engraving on many pieces — a lovely way to personalise a wedding band. Let us know your wording when you order or enquire.

09 Trade & Wholesale

Do you supply other jewellers and retailers?
Yes. We supply independent retailers, bridal boutiques and online sellers on a made-to-order basis, so you can offer a full fine-jewellery range without holding stock. Open a trade account to see the range and trade pricing.
How does a trade account work?
You open a trade account, present our range to your customers, confirm the order, and pieces are produced to order — no stock risk. Wedding bands are typically ready in around 14 days; stone-set and bespoke timelines are confirmed at quote.
Is there a minimum order to buy at trade?
Our made-to-order model is designed to be low-risk for independent retailers. Contact us with your requirements and we’ll confirm the terms that fit your business.
Can you produce white-label or bespoke pieces for my shop?
Yes — we can produce made-to-order and bespoke pieces for your customers, including CAD design and engraving. Get in touch to discuss how a trade partnership could work.

10 Payment & Buy-Back

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major cards and secure digital wallets, with Shop Pay and Clearpay available at checkout so you can spread the cost.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes — options such as Shop Pay and Clearpay let you split your payment into instalments, subject to their eligibility and terms.
Do you buy back or trade in gold?
We offer a buy-back based on the current value of the precious metal in your piece. Because qualifying pieces are UK hallmarked, the metal is easy to verify and value fairly. Contact us for a current quote.
Does solid gold have resale value?
Solid gold carries the intrinsic value of its precious-metal content. Future resale value depends on the market gold price and the condition of the piece, but a genuine, hallmarked solid-gold ring carries the intrinsic value of its precious metal; any resale value depends on the live gold price.
